My Everyday
In the early mornings, I am found on the couch with my Winnie the Pooh coffee mug from my bonus girls, my beautiful Bible from my daddy (we reconnected in my mid-thirties after 23 years), and our precious white cat Winnie Bear. This is a sacred protected appointment held out of reverent love and an ever-present understanding of my desperate need for spiritual nourishment. It is a time to enjoy coffee and the awakening aroma that accompanies it.
I sit, think, process, ask, pray, wait, listen, and receive.
Without this start with Jesus, I am sure to take my eyes off my daily bread. This set apart time gives me just enough to sustain peace to align my heart and mind for what is in front of me that day. I am not perfect but the fruits of my daily investments are undoubtedly evident in my life.
Then it is off to the races (born and raised Kentucky gal) where my days are filled with high-demand client needs that are sure to stretch and challenge me. As a Change Management Consultant my main responsibility is to usher teams through changes they usually do not want to experience. I consider it pure joy to get to do – serving and experiencing all that I can with the people I have been positioned to impact.
As I age, I relish in the stillness that I once hated. I cherish the time away from people it requires to charge my batteries and I do that by retreating in small bits daily. I read, workout, reflect, and talk to Jesus during all of it. He is my best friend who loves and cheers me on daily – and that, my friend, is the one thing I am sure about in this life. Most evenings are busy with bible studies gathered with other women who like me, are learning and growing to step into their highest calling. I am an adventurer and love the thrills and challenges of change – exactly why I lead others through change professionally. My heart’s desire is for the people I encounter to experience Jesus through me and believe there is immeasurably more in store for their lives. There is a purpose and a plan waiting to be discovered on the other side of your YES.
